ESAIL holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). The ERASMUS+ program aims to develop European mobility and cooperation in higher education. The different activities in place aim to meet the following objectives:

Encourage student and teacher mobility by providing financial assistance

Encourage transparency and academic recognition of studies across the European Union (ECTS credits etc.)

Other grant schemes

When undertaking a semester of study with one of our partner universities (excluding Erasmus+ institutions) ESAIL students on the Lyon campus may, under certain conditions, be eligible for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region international mobility grant.

This grant is not awarded automatically but according to the quotas set by the region for eligible institutions each academic year. It cannot therefore be relied on and does not cover the full duration of the semester abroad (thresholds apply). Applicants are selected by their place of study based on their own internal selection criteria, in compliance with the rules imposed by the region.

his experience was very beneficial for me. I discovered a different way of teaching which places more focus on the student’s autonomy, encouraging them to learn for themselves and develop their curiosity. I became much more independent, learning to get by in a foreign country despite the difficulties in understanding the Catalan culture and language. During this semester, I made a lot of progress in Spanish, enhanced my vocabulary, improved my grammar and learned new expressions. On a personal note, this semester abroad also helped me to refine my future career plans. I highly recommend that motivated students take advantage of this opportunity to study in a foreign country for a semester or full academic year, it’s an unforgettable experience, meeting new people, discovering new things and learning about yourself.
